BOE Mission & Vision Statement

The mission of the BoE is to work in collaboration with the Director of Congregational Learning (DCL) as well as the Temple clergy, staff, lay leaders and the community as a whole, to ensure the Temple’s educational activities provide an inclusive and enriching experience for all participants based on Jewish teachings and ethics.

The BoE envisions a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where:

  • Life-long Jewish education, community engagement and inquiry are encouraged and fostered for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in accordance with Reform Jewish values;
  • Regular and collaborative communication between and among students, educators (clergy and lay), parents, and other congregation members is encouraged and supported;
  • Collegiality, respect, friendship, and enthusiasm for learning are fostered among students and within the congregation at large; and
  • Creativity, innovation, and accomplishment in the education programs are celebrated.

Please feel free to contact the Board of Education with your comments and suggestions. We value your feedback.

The BOE sponsors events throughout the year providing the opportunity for parents and families to socialize, including monthly coffee walks and morning runs, and annual events such as apple picking, a hamentaschen bake-off, and trivia nights.
