Confirmation

Confirmation is a year-long class that takes place during the 10th grade year. It is taught by Rabbi Adam and centers around the question, “How do I act as a Jewish adult in the 21st century?” There are three main units to the class- one on Jewish texts and theology, one on “hot topics” like climate change, LGBTQ+ rights, and reproductive justice, and the final unit helps the students prepare to lead their Confirmation service which takes place on Erev Shavuot, our festival of revelation. The curriculum also includes an amazing weekend at the Religious Action Center’s L’taken seminar.

For 2024-2025 the class will meet on Tuesday evenings. For more information about confirmation at Temple Emanuel, please contact Rabbi Adam.
