“Judaism is not only the adherence to particular doctrines and observances, but primarily living in the spiritual order of the Jewish people, the living in the Jews of the past and with the Jews of the present…Our share in holiness we acquire by living in the Jewish community.” Abraham Joshua Heschel

Dear Prospective Members,
We are delighted that you are interested in Temple Emanuel, our spiritual home. As members, we feel that Temple Emanuel has enriched our lives in many ways. It is our hope that it will do the same for you.
When we have surveyed our members for their thoughts and feelings about the Temple, we have learned that it is different things to different people. The common threads seem to be that Temple Emanuel is a warm, welcoming, and caring community, with a diverse and inclusive congregation. Many also mentioned the spiritually rewarding services and Tikkum Olam (social justice) approach, the strong and dedicated lay leadership, and the exciting programming for all ages. Our Religious School was enthusiastically mentioned by our younger families, and we welcome our new Early Childhood Center families this year. Many have found that participation in Brotherhood, Women of Reform Judaism, and a havurah has enriched their lives.
Regardless of what our members say, you will probably want to find out for yourself if Temple Emanuel is the right place for you and your family. We encourage you to take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the information contained in this website to find up-to-date information about services and programs. And of course, we would be happy to arrange a tour of the Temple or meet you at a Friday night Shabbat service.
