Friday Evening
Erev Shabbat Service Including Participation by Kol Zimrah, Adult Choir - Our very talented and active adult choir shares their love of music and of prayer during one Friday Shabbat service every month, and they perform in various community concerts throughout the year.

Family Services - One Shabbat a month, our 300 seat sanctuary is full to overflowing when we honor various classes in our Religious School with a family service which they help to lead.  Joined by our outstanding Junior Choir, the students share songs, stories, dramatic presentations and thoughtful readings about their experiences as Jewish young people.  Full of toe-tapping and hand-clapping, the music and spirit of this service bring the whole community together to celebrate the future of our congregation – our children.

Tot Shabbat - Kids and families welcome Shabbat with songs and stories in an engaging ½ hour service.  Led by Cantor Boxt, this service is appropriate for newborns through 7 year olds – enjoy playing instruments, marching with the Torah, learning songs and sharing with a group of dynamic young families. (For a schedule, please click HERE.)

Sweet and Joyful Summer Shabbats - During the months of July and August, we invite you to join us at 6:00 pm for a half hour of wine ad cheese, followed at 6:30 pm by a sweet, joyful and shorter Shabbat service.  This is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal with famly and friends at home or out after the service.

Torah Portions

Shabbat services at Temple Emanuel are known for their warm and inviting spirit. The clergy highly value participation from all aspects of the congregation, young and old.  We welcome a baby's cry, a laugh out loud, or a question from the kahal, congregation.  Our liturgy is liberal and egalitarian, allowing for different views of faith and tradition to exist beautifully side by side. The Rabbi and the Cantor weave music, stories, text and teaching into services for Jews from all backgrounds. The clergy and leadership are always in tune with what is new and creative in the Reform Movement, and often lead those creative trends. Besides the regular Shabbat services, we often have special services, such as our annual Shabbat Alive! service and others throughout the year, some of which are listed here.

Saturday Morning
Joyful Saturday Morning Community Services and Potluck Luncheons - led by Cantor Rosalie Boxt and Rabbi Warren Stone

Saturdays, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm - September 24, October 1, October 22, November 12, January 7, February 11, March 3, June 2

An hour of spirited singing, going through the wonderful Shabbat morning liturgy!  Much of the service occurs BEFORE the Barchu, including songs and psalms of the morning, of new life, of celebration and rejoicing!  All ages are invited, interactive storytelling and Torah learning, followed by fellowship around a light lunch – provided by all of us together!

Saturday Morning Minyan and Torah Study - Every Saturday the Torah Study Group has a short Minyan at 8:30 am in the Adult Education room, followed by Torah study. The minyan and Torah study is lay led and open to all.

Saturday Morning Bar/Bat Mitzvah Service - Our warm and welcoming Shabbat morning service is a wonderful life-cycle moment for our Bar/Bat Mitzvah students and their families.  Our students lead almost all of the prayers and creative readings during the service, as well as chanting from Torah, singing the Haftarah, and offering their own Divrei Torah, words of Torah.  There are opportunities for members of families from diverse backgrounds to participate, as well, and we allow numerous opportunities for a great deal of active participation from the community.
