Presented by Dr. Rachel Franklin3-Session SeriesSundays from 9:30-11:00amMarch 19, 26, April 2
Film music can inspire and romance us; our pulse can race, we get goose bumps, our stomachs churn, our tear ducts fill up. Experiencing a great film score can have a life-long impact.
It is impossible to imagine many of our most historic movies without the great Jewish film composers of the 20th century. During our course we’ll trace the immigration patterns of Jewish musicians from Europe and Russia to Hollywood, investigating how so many Jewish composers became such an integral part of cinematic history.
Join Dr. Rachel Franklin, pianist extraordinaire, who will provide live music as she guides us through a wealth of film scores from early “talkies” to Westerns, Noir, Sci-fi and beyond.
There is no cost for this program. To register, contact the Temple Office at 301-942-2000 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Sunday, March 26 from 5:00pm-8:00pmAdas Israel Congregation2850 Quebec St NWWashington, DC 20008The Labor Seder is organized by Jews United for Justice (JUFJ). Temple Emanuel is a co-sponsor for this event.
Each spring, the Labor Seder brings together the Jewish, activist, and labor communities to celebrate the freedom story of the Exodus and connect it to all our work together for justice here and today.
This year will be different from all other years. This year, we remember that we've faced Pharaohs before – and won. This year, we're turning the seder into a giant community teach-in.
At the seder we’ll eat, sing, and learn together - then split up into teams to learn a variety of crucial ways to organize for action. We’ll plug into protecting vulnerable communities, prepare to advocate for spending our tax dollars on OUR priorities, practice overcoming fear to intervene in moments of hate and violence, and more.Children's program and childcare provided as appropriate. For childcare options contact Liz at email@example.com
Refreshments (vegetarian and kosher-certified) will be served.CLICK HERE to make a reservation. If you have any questions, please contact JUFJ at firstname.lastname@example.org.$18 individuals$10 children, students, limited income$36 families
